Getting here

Despite its rural and peaceful setting our retreat can be reached easily by sea, air and rail. The village of Bouin is situated within a comfortable day’s drive of all major ferry ports.

Those who have not experienced the French motorway system will enjoy its frequent ‘aires’ where you can relax and refuel both bodies and cars. These motorways called ‘autoroutes’ in France are toll roads but are not expensive.

We are also conveniently located for access to 4 airports and can be reached by train via Eurostar and the amazingly fast and reliable TGV system.

If you choose to fly, please check if there are direct flights from your airport to our closest airports: Poitiers (PIS) – Biard Airport La Rochelle – Île de Ré Airport (LRH) Limoges – Bellegarde Airport (LIG) Nantes Atlantique Airport (NTE) Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport (BOD). Cars/Taxis can be hired at all of the airports.

If not – you can take a flight to any of the airports in Paris – Paris Airport-Le Bourget (LBG) Orly Airport (ORY) Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) – and then take the fast TGV train to Ruffec (through Poitiers). Cars/Taxis can be hired at the station.

By Train

There are Eurostar and SNCF train services that run all across Europe and can get you to Paris or Lille, where you can change to TGV services that will take you to Poitiers or Ruffec.
